You know the feeling you get when you miss out on buying something you REALLY wanted. I get that feeling, roughly, five times a day... I'm constantly saying "I wish had bought that.." or "I can't believe I missed out on that..." So rather than bore my friends with this constant cat-walk down memory lane, I figure I'll share it with all you fine people.. so without further adieu.
Here are my Top 10 Covets: Louis Vuitton.
10- Anything from the "All Vachetta" collection-
I knew nothing of this collection upon it's release and just recently learned of this interesting twist. Vachetta leather is highly associated with Louis Vuitton, more so than any other brand. So
9- The Watercolor Speedy-
This bag was released the same season the "monogramoflauge" collection came out and I couldn't decide between the two. I eventually went with the monogramoflauge bag, and went merrily on my way. But this bag has haunted me ever since. I love the "artistic" look to it. It's very "punk rock" in a lot of ways. This was a small collection, I believe only four bags were produced in this monogram? But the "Speedy" is clearly my favorite. The bag were also released in black as well, but I wasn't feeling them.
8- The (original) Graffiti Speedy-
The original "Graffiti" collection is probably my favorite of all time. And one that I own very little from. This collection will always have a special place in my heart. It's so "New York", it's so "fuck off". I truly love it.
I remember Marc went on Oprah, and it was a big deal. He rarely did interviews at that time (this was still nerdy Marc era) and I remember being rather excited to watch! The interview was pretty simple, Oprah showed off the bag Marc sent her as a gift (the Oskar Waltz bag) and they went merrily on their way. HOWEVER, during the B-roll footage of Marc in the street, he was wearing this AMAZING rex rabbit scarf! And this image has been engraved in my head ever since!
6- The Sofia Coppola Bag Alligator Leather
I have ALWAYS loved this bag. The calf skin version of the bag is also STUNNING. But when they "released" this version (I say that in quotes because I've never actually seen the bag in stores) my mouth dropped. I love exotics, especially SOFT exotics.
As "tacky" as a lot of people find the multicolor collection, I don't care.. I love(d) it. The colors were a really fun way to spice up the boring repetitive monogram. I prayed they would release this in a 35, I cried over it! That wish never came true, however they did release this 40cm last year. As much as I loved it, I couldn't bring myself to pay the ridiculous price. It was almost 5 times the amount I paid for my Murakami 30cm. (I will say, it would make an amazing summer keepall)
The go to bag for Regina in mean girls. This little bitch is so cute. It makes me sick that I wasn't cool enough to snatch one.
3- The Fur Bum Bag-
Really? Need I say more...
2- The Tartan Fur From 2004- I remember my mother getting the look book for this season , and me being obsessed with this coat. This and the FULL fitch fur version.. (There are no HD photos of the full fur).. Clearly this would never fit me. And at 13 I really had no use for this coat. But it's still a covet nonetheless.
This is, hands down, without a shadow of a doubt, my FAVORITE bag Louis Vuitton has ever produced. The photos really do NOT do the bag justice. It is so simple, and understated. Which, as we all know, Louis Vuitton is not known for being low key and demure. They actually show up a lot on the resale market, and are usually rather reasonably priced.. I really do not have a valid excuse for why I don't own this already.
